The most important piece of running kit is your trainers. Some of you are going to be spending a lot of time hitting the roads and it’s essential that you support your main running tool – your feet.

There are lots of different styles of trainers to suit you. Visit a specialist running shop to receive an expert assessment free of charge.

Sports bra

Women should invest in a good sports bra. It will make running so much more comfortable, regardless of your cup size. Try to find a bra in a sports shop, as they are made with exercise in mind.

Make sure your clothing fits well

Only buy trainers and clothes that are comfortable and fit well. It will help to prevent chafing and keep you warm or cool, depending on what you need.

It's also important to wear the trainers and clothes during training, so you know they won’t rub. Don’t leave them until the race day!
