Raising money through own fundraising activities
Kaveh decided to support Cancer Research UK as many close members of his family have been affected by cancer. He has organised many events, including social nights, raffles, cake sales and barbeques, to raise money.
"I've tried to link fundraising with other activities I enjoy. One of the events people enjoyed the most was a fancy dress netball competition I organised with University of Bath," he says.
Kaveh has raised over £11,000 for Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work.
Spreading the word about the challenge
"I’ve tagged along to any event I could, from circuses to fashion shows and wrestling events, and gave speeches about what I was doing and why.
"Investing in business cards, flyers and t-shirts to be worn and distributed by friends and family was a huge help in getting the word out.
"I also wrote to local papers and radio as well as tried to get celebrity support. I was fortunate enough to meet with Mr T and record a short video with him. The interest it generated was phenomenal!”
