Tackling the Olympic distance of London Triathlon

Neil Edwards and HollyOn Sunday 2 August 2009 Neil Edwards took on the challenge of competing in the Olympic distance Mazda London Triathlon.

He tackled a 1,500m swim, 40km bike ride and a 10km run in 2 hours and 45 minutes, all in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Raising money to help beat cancer

Neil took on the challenge the day his daughter returned from school with the news that her 11-year-old friend Holly had been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma.

"I wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for Holly. Cancer Research UK is a great cause that really means a lot to me,” he says.

“Raising money made the training easier – who knows how the money raised might help other children in the future."

Neil has raised a fantastic £3,000 for Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work.
