A group of Cancer Research UK runnersOur runners have some of the most courageous and inspiring stories.

Meet some of our runners and find out their reasons to support Cancer Research UK:

  • Graham Bower decided to take on one of the toughest running challenges – the Virgin London Marathon 2011!
  • Adele Bisbey is taking on the massive challenge of completing the Bupa Great North Run after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
  • Kate and Paddy Davey ran three marathons in three days dressed as breasts in memory of both their grandmothers, who died from breast cancer.
  • Stephen Auker has taken part in over 50 events and continues to raise awareness of Cancer Research UK through websites like Twitter.
  • CharitableNESS – read about the four friends running races dressed as the Loch Ness Monster.
  • Jason Donnachie took part in The Five Marathon Majors and ran the Berlin, New York, Chicago, Boston and London marathons.
  • Neil Edwards signed up for the Mazda London Triathlon after his daughter's friend was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma.
  • Kaveh Fatemian ran the Paris Marathon and London Marathon within three weeks of each other.
  • Katy Herrington and Lynne White have been training and taking part in races together to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
  • Caroline Quinti took part in the Bupa Great Manchester Run in memory of her mother.
  • Jennifer Tawse was diagnosed with cancer of the tongue in 2008 and she ran the Virgin London Marathon in April this year.
  • Hilary Watson was inspired to start running by her son Andrew and they ran the London Marathon together to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
  • Scott Whitfield ran the London Marathon in 2009 with friends in memory of his wife Lucy.
  • Neil O'Maonaigh-Lennon took on the amazing challenge of running 105 marathons in 105 days.
  • Tom Garrod took on the challenge of the Virgin Active London Triathlon to raise awareness and money for testicular cancer.
